Together for Romania
The Donors' Circle Helsinki is one of the 7 events organized by the Romanian diaspora around the world as part of the Romanian Diaspora Funding Network supported by The Funding Network in the UK. The initiative promotes and supports a connected diaspora that contributes to the development and growth of a European Romania.
About the Donors' Circle
The initiative started in 2017 in Brussels with the goal of facilitating the link between the Romanian diaspora abroad and Romanian projects that need financial support. The event is organised following the TFN (The Funding Network) model and supports change through philanthropy, civic movement, and collaboration. The selected organisations have the chance to pitch their projects in front of donors in order to raise funds, but also to build on the long term a direct relationship with them.
For our first Donors Circle event in Helsinki, organised in March 2020 we managed to raise 3.000 € for two projects: The Reading Box by Zmeișorii and Among the Few by Documentaria. These two projects have a primary goal to fight illiteracy and discrimination against minorities in Romania.
If you wish to support one or both projects you can make your donation in the Edustudio Helsinki bank account, FI94 7997 7996 1187 53, mentioning the name of the project you wish to support.
Donors' Circle Brussels
The Donors’ Circle first started in 2017 initiated by a group of Romanians living and working in Brussels, eager to build a Romanian community to support projects in Romanian or in Belgium.
They started the Donors’ Circle with the mission to facilitate the link between the diaspora in Belgium and Romanian projects that need financial support. During the first 3 events, they raised 30.000€ for 9 different non-profit projects in Romania, and all thanks to the help and support of donors and collaborators.
